Positive Behaviour and De-escalation Skills Workshop

Prospero Learning is pleased to offer a FREE professional learning and CPD opportunity exclusively to Teachers, Teaching Assistants and Tutors who work from Prospero in and around London.

Delivered by guest speaker, Fiona Haynes. 

Fiona is a highly skilled educator with years of experience in both supporting young people and training school staff.

Fiona has set up and managed an Inclusion Centre, worked for the Local Authority as an Integration Officer and now manages an Outreach Team at a Local Authority Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) supporting schools with managing behaviour.

The one-hour workshop will cover:

✅ Understanding Behaviour: Explore therapeutic approaches, behaviour definitions, and the functions behind challenging behaviour. 

✅ Root Causes and Impact: Examine who can display challenging behaviour, and the influence of attachment and trauma. 

✅ Behaviour in Educational Settings: Investigate why behaviour is escalating in schools and how behaviour can be effectively taught. 

✅ Practical Strategies: Learn what practices to avoid, and how to de-escalate both student behaviour and interactions with difficult parents.
